Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What should I wear to skydive?
A. Wear comfortable clothing with a pair of tennis shoes. We will provide you with everything necessary for your first skydive, such as jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, etc.

Q. Can my friends come and watch?
A. Observers are welcome and our landing area is located by our office, so they can watch you land. Please remind observers that this is an airport environment and children must be supervised. No pets please.

Q. Can I get video and photographs of my skydive?
A. Absolutely. In fact, you will likely regret it if you don't. We have one of the best video and photo services in California. Click here for more details.

Q. Are there age limits for skydiving?
A. You must be at least 18 years old to skydive. There is no maximum age limit for skydiving as long as the person is healthy enough to participate.

Q. Is there a weight limit for skydiving?
A. The maximum weight for skydiving is 250 lbs. There is a surcharge for jumpers over 200 lbs. If you are above the weight limit: call us! We will see what we can do for you

Q. I have some health issues. Can I still skydive?
A. You do not need to be in perfect health to skydive. We can handle many medical conditions if you let us know about them. However, you should consult with your doctor before jumping. You will be required to sign a waiver of release of liability and a medical statement.

Q. Can a large group come jump?
A. Groups are welcome and often the most fun. A lot of our groups stay down at the beach and have a fun beach party with occasional skydiving!

Q. Do I need to make a reservation?
A. We do try to accommodate walk-ins; however, reservations are highly recommended.

Q. How long will it take?
A. Plan to be with us for approximately 1.5 hours ff it is only 2 jumpers. Bigger groups will take longer. Times may vary due to group size, unfavorable weather conditions, and crew rest requirements.

Q. What is your location like?
A. We are located in Santa Cruz County. The scenery is incredible, with spectacular views of the Monterey Bay. Take a scenic plane ride looking at Monterey in the South and beautiful Santa Cruz in the North. Sometimes you can make out dolphins or even whales in the blues ocean water. On clear days you can see San Francisco in the very north and the snowcapped mointains of the Sierras in the East. Our location enjoys a mild climate, low winds, and fine sunny days throughout the year.

Q. What is your safety record like?
A. At Skydive San Francisco, we have not had a single fatality in all our years of operation. Skydiving is an extreme and potentially hazardous sport. You could be severely injured or even killed. Proper instruction, maintained equipment, and qualified personnel are a prerequisite for making a safe skydive. At Skydive San Francisco, we place safety at the top of our priority list by hiring quality personal and using state of the art tandem parachute equipment. We are certified by, both the Federal Aviation Administration and the United States Parachute Association.
