1. Description of Rides

The Great American Hot Air Balloon Ride.  "The Great American Hot Air Balloon Ride" ($199.00 per person )  has room for 1, 2, 3, 4 or more. First, our crew chief will take you or your friend(s) to the launch site where the beautiful balloon is being inflated. Then we gently ascend and float between 500 and 1,000 feet wherever the wind takes us. We travel above the treetops and below the clouds for about an hour, covering 5 or 10 miles. On landing we celebrate with a champagne or fruit juice toast, and old French tradition, as the balloon is being rolled up. The whole experience takes about 3 hours, three fantastic hours!

The Great American Soaring Glider Rides for One. These gliders are equipped with dual controlled joy-sticks. Under the direction of our pilot your friend may actually do part of the flying if he or she wishes. Almost everyone does take the stick even for a short time. "The Soaring Seagull Glider Ride-for-One" ($199.95 after discount)  is our best ride for one. It is a series of three take-offs, flights, and landings, complete with logbook and conversational ground instruction between flights. The whole experience takes about 1½ hours, ground and air time. Our other ride for 1, " The Mile High Glider Ride for One" ($139.95 after discount) goes to 5,280 feet, covers 50 miles and is up for about 35 minutes! Both are great flights.

The Great American Soaring Glider Rides for Two. Our experienced pilot will take your friends high above the earth in our sleek silent glider, The World's Largest. They will have an exciting soaring adventure, better than they ever imagined. Smooth, quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Spectacular scenics! If you're looking for fun and value for your money these Glider Rides for two can't be beat!  "The Twin-Tow for Two" ($79.95 per person after discount) is a series of two individual flights for a combined time and altitude of 6,400 feet and about 35 minutes. It is an exciting ride for two, terrific for first-timers,  for those who want to take a turn at the controls themselves, while in the air. Another ride, the "Mile High Glider Ride-for-Two Together" ($79.95 per person after discount) goes to 5,280 feet, covers 50 miles and is up for about 35 minutes. The certificate for the Glider Ride for Two may be used for either ride.

The Great American Tandem Skydiving Ride for One. You and your instructor board the jump plane and you climb to between 10,000 and 13,000 feet. Signals are given and you exit the aircraft harnessed to your instructor. The free-fall is a rush and the feeling of flying is breathtaking. Then, the chute is opened and you and your instructor float to earth together. Excitement unlimited!

Centers are located all over the United States. For safety reasons they are never within congested flying areas, usually within a 1-1/2 hour drive (usually less) of major cities. Smaller cities, near the major ones are, of course, also within a short drive. The network of  200 Certified Centers is constantly expanding. New centers are being added every week. Balloon pilots usually operate from farms, parks and fields. Gliders, of course, are launched from small airports, usually with grass runways.
